SOAR Saskatchewan

SOAR Saskatchewan

Three days of spiritual formation, team building and ministry training.

Your team will partner with a local church or ministry and you will participate in community transformation.

This is a time to rest, worship and reflect.

Pre-Program Orientation

Pre-Program Training is an important aspect of preparing for SOAR, because it helps you and your team get the most out of your mission experience.  By taking time individually and as a team, you can better prepare yourself for the mission ahead.  It is important to prepare both individually and as a team.

On-Site Orientation

February 15-18, 2018

Be prepared. Your SOAR experience begins with three days of spiritual formation, team building, and ministry training. God will challenge and renew your heart as you worship, pray, learn, and prepare for ministry. Allow yourself to be filled up with God’s spirit so that you can pour out in ministry.

February 19-23, 2018

Be hands-on. Use your gifts to show God’s love as you serve. Your team will be partnered with a local organization, church or ministry, and you will have the opportunity to participate in community transformation. Whether you run a kids program or help at a drop-in program, you will make an impact in people’s lives.

On-Site Debrief

February 23-24, 2018
Be mentored. This is a time to rest, worship, and reflect on your experiences. We’ll help you process what you learned, and prepare you to re-enter your home church as you continue living out God’s call on your everyday life. The stories you tell will bring the hope of what God is doing around the city!

Emphasis is placed on bringing closure to your experiences and affirming principles and commitments that can be transferred to your own communities.  Debrief takes a number of forms and occurs during Solo Time, Team Time and General Sessions.

Post-Program Debrief

Your experiences at SOAR will most likely be more than you could have ever experienced in the same time frame at home.  So we strongly encourage you to continue debriefing at home, individually, with your mentor and with your team.  As noted in our Pre-Program Training(Orientation) section, each participant will receive a Goer Guide.  The last four chapters (7-11) of this book guide you in returning home. The chapters highlight common pitfalls of short-term missionaries and how to share your experiences with your family, friends and church.
